In many of our most complex, highly regulated and fast growing marketplaces, third-party courier fleet partnerships and staff leasing models are the primary driver for scaling access and operating a reliable delivery service. We are looking for an innovative hybrid product data scientist and applied scientist working on a greenfield of earner/fleet products and marketplace tech to drive Uber delivery business success in such managed delivery markets. As a Scientist for Courier Fleets, you will get an opportunity to develop the 0->1 tech strategy, own end to end product analytics and marketplace tech innovations that enable courier fleets to thrive in environments with intense regulatory oversight and turn that strength into a competitive advantage. You will partner and collaborate with mobility fleet scientists on the team, earner delivery scientists and marketplace delivery scientists to drive the business outcome for Uber.
Job Responsibility:
Deploy a wide variety of methodologies, including advanced experimentation and econometric modeling, to evaluate technical, product, and business decisions
Design and execute product experiments and interpret the results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions
Work together with Product, Operations, Engineering and other Science partners to drive strategies, product roadmap and marketplace tech to empower business success
Present findings to business and executive audiences
Requirements:
Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields. (If Ph.D, or M.S. degree, a minimum of 1+ years of industry experience required and if Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent)
Strong Python or R foundations and expertise
Knowledge of underlying mathematical foundations of statistics, optimization, economics, and analytics
Experience in experimental design and analysis
Ability to work in both self-guided manner as well as in collaborations with other scientists and cross functional partners
Good communication skills across technical, non-technical and executive audiences
Nice to have:
Deep product analytics background
Marketplace experimentation experience
Modeling or causal inference exposure
Executive presentation and stakeholder management experience
