Scientist I

• Runs laboratory equipment as trained
• Prepares product blends under supervision
• Documents laboratory data in notebook and spreadsheets
• Performs calculations as directed and in teams
• Performs a variety of specific tasks under close supervision which involve a series of detailed steps
• Collects and evaluates data
• Reviews, interprets, and analyzes data for technical, quality and compliance to protocols, methods, SOPs, client criteria, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Provides straightforward solutions to problems using readily available clear and direct references
• Assists Scientists/Researchers on projects
• Run product demonstration to customers under direction
• Write reports summarizing data
• Suggests improvements to work processes and test procedures, proactively communicate with formulators, peers, and managers
• Maintain instruments through routine calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, accuracy, and method development
• Support daily housekeeping, chemical inventory management, and waste disposal in compliance with safety regulations
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to laboratory safety, including proper use of PPE, safe chemical handling, and adherence to OSHA/EPA regulations
• Participate in safety training, hazard communication, and emergency preparedness drills
• Identify potential hazards, report unsafe conditions, and actively contribute to a culture of safety
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment
• Additional duties as assigned

• Minimum B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field required
• Experience in lab operations and EHS program management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial laboratory environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required
• Multi-tasker and problem-solver
• Attention to detail and desire to complete quality work products
• Ability to work well with others and comprehend instruction quickly
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and laboratory best practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) a plus
• Analytical laboratory environment requiring lifting, standing for extended periods, and repetitive tasks
• Less than 20% travel required
