As part of a world-class center of excellence, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and quality of life-changing pharmaceutical products by tackling complex challenges in nitrosamine quantification. In this laboratory-based position, you will be at the heart of the R&D’s analytical powerhouse. Your primary mission is to develop and implement cutting-edge analytical methods to quantify nitrosamines across a variety of complex matrices. This is more than just routine lab work; you will lead global investigations, collaborate with internal experts on root cause analysis, and explore innovative chemical approaches to solve sophisticated analytical puzzles. Your work will directly support both the Discovery, Product Development & Supply (DPDS) organization and the commercial product portfolio.
Job Responsibility:
Design and develop advanced analytical methods, from innovative sample preparation to high-end chromatographic separations
Utilize cutting-edge mass spectrometry and detection techniques for precise nitrosamine quantification in line with regulatory standards
Support comprehensive root cause investigations focusing on chemical reactivity from early-stage R&D to late-stage development
Work closely with cross-functional teams and foster partnerships with universities and research institutions to expand the external innovation network
Maintain a safe work environment following all GMP, health, and safety regulations
Support the lab through compound preparation, documentation review, method transfers, and literature research to improve workflows
Requirements:
PhD in Analytical or Organic Chemistry (or a related field), or a Master’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience
Proven experience in mass spectrometry (Triple Quadrupole and High-Resolution MS)
Experience with nitrosamine determination
Strong background in developing chromatographic methods
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (ICH, EMA, FDA) and GMP validation
