We are looking for a Scientific Project and Funding Manager — a strategic and technically grounded professional to drive ATLANT 3D’s funding efforts across global markets. In this role, you will identify and secure high-impact funding opportunities, lead end-to-end application processes, and ensure strong execution and compliance of funded R&D projects. Leveraging your technical and research expertise, you will translate advanced technical work into compelling funding proposals, collaborate closely with internal teams, and build strong relationships with funding bodies across the EU, US, UK, and Denmark. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of deep tech, strategy, and innovation funding.
Job Responsibility:
Strategic Funding Identification and Research: Develop and execute strategies to seek funding opportunities aligned with ATLANT 3D's goals
Identify, assess, and prioritize non-dilutive funding instruments beyond regular R&D grants, including innovation loans, public co-investment schemes, guarantees, and blended finance instruments at EU, national, and international level
Proactively track upcoming and future funding calls, policy initiatives, and strategic programs (e.g. EU, national innovation agencies, CHIPS-related instruments) and translate them into a forward-looking funding pipeline
Identify and support the formation of multi-million value consortium opportunities across ATLANT 3D’s strategic focus areas like AI-driven materials discovery, self-driving labs, semiconductors, advanced packaging, energy and quantum applications
Leverage your technical expertise to evaluate the feasibility and fit of various funding opportunities
Work closely with management and finance to ensure non-dilutive funding efforts are coordinated with overall capital planning, without overlapping or conflicting with equity fundraising activities
Application and Proposal Management: Own and drive end-to-end grant and non-dilutive funding applications, from concept shaping and eligibility assessment through submission and evaluation follow-up, including eligible cost models, funding rates, co-financing requirements, and alignment with program rules
Coordinate cross-functional inputs (R&D, product, finance, operations, external partners) to ensure consistent, high-quality, and timely submissions
Lead consortium proposal development, including partner identification, role definition, budget alignment, and contribution structuring for multi-party applications
Create and manage standardized application templates and process planning frameworks
Manage application timelines, internal approvals, and external dependencies to ensure on-time delivery across multiple concurrent submissions
Act as the primary point of contact with funding bodies during the evaluation, clarification, and negotiation phases of applications
Financial and Project Management: Ensure that funded projects are properly handed over to internal project owners and the reporting officer after award, with clear documentation of financial assumptions, milestones, and obligations
Maintain visibility on key grant conditions and financial triggers (e.g. payment schedules, shareholder reporting, amendments) to support internal planning and cash-flow forecasting, without owning formal reporting
Compliance, Reporting, and Performance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to all funding regulations and reporting requirements
Maintain meticulous records and detailed reports on funding activities, outcomes, and performance metrics
Relationship Management and Networking: Establish and maintain robust relationships with government agencies, funding bodies, and other relevant stakeholders
Utilize strong networking skills to explore new funding avenues and collaborative opportunities
Represent ATLANT 3D at relevant meetings, workshops, and events
Requirements:
Advanced degree in nanotechnology, materials or natural sciences, engineering, or a related field
3+ years proven experience in R&D funding, grant applications, or research project management within a high-tech or research-driven environment
Strong project management and coordination skills
Proven ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring cross functional alignment and successful delivery
Comfortable using tools and platforms to support communication and execution
Strong communication and presentation skills across various levels
