A Science Department support role helping deliver engaging practical learning within a warm school community, offering part‑time, term‑time working and flexibility. Located in Sandhurst, Berkshire, and set within the grounds of Wellington College, Wellington College Prep offers a vibrant and nurturing environment for pupils and staff. The Prep School is a warm, busy and supportive community where curiosity, confidence and character sit at the heart of everyday learning. We are seeking a Science Technician to support the effective delivery of practical science across the Prep School from September 2026. This is an important support role within a thriving department, contributing to the smooth running of lessons and helping to create a safe, well organised and engaging learning environment for pupils. Working closely with teaching staff, the Science Technician plays a valued part in preparing resources, maintaining equipment and supporting practical activities that bring science learning to life for pupils aged 3–13. This is a part‑time, term‑time only role of 24 hours per week for 34 weeks per year. There is flexibility in the working pattern to meet the needs of the department, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a role that fits alongside other commitments while remaining closely involved in school life. The position would suit an organised and practical individual who enjoys working as part of a team and contributing positively to a school community. Working in a school environment offers a unique sense of purpose and community. You will be supported with training, development and opportunities to grow your skills, and you’ll work alongside colleagues who are committed to delivering excellent service to every member of the Wellington community. Wellington College Prep is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must undergo child protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
