Job Responsibility:
Deliver engaging and inspiring Science lessons tailored to the needs of students with autism and SEMH
Develop and implement individualised learning plans, incorporating therapeutic approaches
Collaborate effectively with the pastoral team and family liaison team to ensure holistic student support
Maintain accurate records, assessments, and progress reports for each student
Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's Science curriculum
Create a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning
Utilise a variety of teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles and needs
Participate in school events and initiatives to foster a strong school community
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Proven experience teaching Science to students with autism and/or SEMH (minimum 1 year)
A passion for making learning engaging and accessible for all students, particularly those with special educational needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including pastoral staff and therapists
A commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and individualised learning plans (ILPs)
Experience using a range of assessment methods to track student progress
