An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Cambridge. This is a long-term, full-time placement where you will deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for KS5 for those with A-Level experience). We are looking for a teacher who can balance rigorous academic standards with an inclusive approach that makes complex scientific theories accessible to all learners.
Job Responsibility:
Dynamic Instruction: Plan and deliver an engaging Science curriculum that fosters a deep understanding of scientific principles and the scientific method
Practical Learning: Lead safe, effective, and captivating laboratory experiments that bridge the gap between theory and real-world application
Exam Excellence: Prepare Year 11 students for their GCSE examinations through targeted revision sessions, mock assessments, and detailed feedback
Inclusive Pedagogy: Differentiate lessons to support students of all abilities, ensuring that both high-attainers and those needing extra support reach their potential
Collaborative Innovation: Work alongside the Science faculty to share resources, develop new schemes of work, and contribute to the department's success
Progress Tracking: Meticulously monitor student data to inform interventions and ensure every pupil stays on track to meet or exceed their predicted grades
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is mandatory
A degree in a Science-related discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
Proven experience teaching the UK Science curriculum within a Secondary setting
Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful laboratory environment
A proactive attitude toward professional development and a passion for staying current with scientific advancements
An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Nice to have:
