Job Responsibility:
Academic Delivery: Plan and deliver high-impact Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of the scientific method and core principles
Laboratory Excellence: Design and facilitate safe, engaging practical experiments, utilising the school's modern laboratory facilities to bring theory to life
GCSE Strategy: Lead Year 11 cohorts through their exam specifications (AQA/Edexcel), utilising data-driven interventions to ensure every student achieves their potential
STEM Integration: Highlight the links between the three sciences and their applications in modern technology, medicine, and environmental sustainability
Inquiry-Based Learning: Foster a classroom environment where students are encouraged to ask 'why,' form hypotheses, and analyse data with a critical eye
Collaborative Planning: Work with the technician team and departmental colleagues to share resources and maintain a high standard of laboratory safety and organisation
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory
A degree in a Scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
Technical Mastery: A deep understanding of scientific concepts and the ability to explain complex phenomena with clarity and enthusiasm
Classroom Authority: Exceptional management skills that ensure a safe, focused, and productive environment, especially during practical investigations
Adaptability: The resilience to thrive in a fast-paced South West London school and the flexibility to support students of all ability levels
Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad)
