We are seeking an intellectually driven and high-energy Qualified Science Teacher (QTS) for a full-time, long-term position. This role is designed for a practitioner who views the laboratory as the heart of the school and is committed to fostering a culture of inquiry and evidence-based thinking. You will be responsible for delivering a rigorous curriculum that bridges the gap between foundational KS3 concepts and advanced KS4/KS5 examination specifications.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver high-impact lessons across the three sciences at KS3 and your specialist discipline at KS4 (AQA/Edexcel/OCR)
Design and facilitate safe, engaging laboratory experiments, ensuring all practical work aligns with CLEAPSS guidelines
Lead GCSE and A-Level cohorts through complex specifications, utilizing data-driven interventions and precise feedback
Foster a classroom environment where students are trained to form hypotheses, analyse data, and evaluate scientific evidence critically
Work closely with the science technician team to ensure resources are managed efficiently
Integrate modern technology and real-world scientific developments into the daily scheme of work
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS
degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related STEM discipline
deep understanding of the scientific method
ability to model accurate practical techniques with confidence
exceptional classroom management skills
adaptability to differentiate complex topics for students of varying ability levels
enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to process a new one via Randstad)
