Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver high-impact Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of scientific principles and the scientific method
Design and facilitate safe, engaging practical experiments, utilising the school's laboratory facilities to bring theoretical concepts to life
Lead Year 11 cohorts through their exam specifications, utilising data-driven interventions to ensure every student achieves their potential
Highlight the links between the sciences and their applications in modern technology, medicine, and environmental sustainability
Take full responsibility for marking, progress tracking, and providing detailed feedback to drive student improvement
Work closely with the technician team and departmental colleagues to ensure a high standard of laboratory safety and resource management
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory. A degree in a Scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
Technical Mastery: A deep understanding of scientific concepts and the ability to explain complex phenomena with clarity and enthusiasm
Classroom Authority: Exceptional management skills that ensure a safe, focused, and productive environment, especially during practical investigations
Adaptability: The resilience to thrive in a fast-paced Essex school and the flexibility to support students of all ability levels
Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad)
