Job Description

Secondary Science Teachers Required - Bury St Edmunds. We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Secondary Science Teachers for daily, short-term supply cover at a variety of secondary schools and academies in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding area. Whether you are an experienced teacher looking to step away from a permanent classroom role, or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to build confidence and network across different local departments, day-to-day supply offers the perfect solution.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging pre-planned Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, without the burden of planning, grading, or parents' evenings
  • Gain experience in a range of secondary settings, from large town academies to smaller community schools

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to confidently deliver the secondary Science curriculum
  • Effective classroom management strategies, with a strong awareness of classroom safety regulations during theory and practical-based cover
  • A flexible, proactive attitude and a willingness to adapt to different school policies
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one)
