We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic educator who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential for A-Level teaching for the right candidate. Job Responsibility
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to students from Year 7 to Year 11
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve and excel
Create a positive and stimulating classroom and laboratory environment that encourages curiosity, practical inquiry, and a love for scientific discovery
Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department to develop innovative schemes of work and share best practices
Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extra-curricular science clubs, school events, and departmental meetings
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and well-being
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
A relevant degree in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary level (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4)
A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Science and experience preparing students for GCSE exams
The ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, from those requiring additional support to gifted and talented students
Excellent classroom management skills and a positive, resilient approach
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
A Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
