Job Description:

Passionate Science Teacher (SEN) Needed for a Unique Independent School in West Hoathly, Near Haywards Heath, Sussex. An independent specialist school in the beautiful West Hoathly area is seeking a creative and resilient Science Teacher to join our committed team. We provide a supportive and holistic learning environment for students aged 7-19 who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, social communication difficulties, and a range of other associated learning needs. All our students have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Job Responsibility:

planning, delivering, and assessing an engaging and appropriately differentiated Science curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students
foster a love of scientific inquiry and exploration, adapting your teaching methods to ensure all students can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
essential experience and a strong understanding of working with students with SEN, particularly those with SEMH, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and communication difficulties
can create and deliver imaginative and engaging Science lessons tailored to individual student needs and abilities
resilient, patient, and possesses excellent behaviour management skills, using a positive and restorative approach
strong team player, able to work effectively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other colleagues
committed to our school's values of mutual respect, compassion, responsibility, integrity, resilience, creativity, and innovation
enthusiastic about contributing to a nurturing school community where the personal development of students is paramount
can inspire a curiosity for science and relate it to the everyday lives and experiences of our students
