Job Description:

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a dedicated Science Lecturer to join our Science Department on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team committed to learner success across 16 –18 and adult provision.

Job Responsibility:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons, including schemes of work
  • Using effective, learner-centred assessment methods with constructive feedback
  • Tracking and supporting learner attendance, progress and achievement
  • Providing coaching and pastoral support to designated learners
  • Maintaining safe learning environments and promoting positive behaviours
  • Keeping up to date with developments in Science education and assessment
  • Participating in CPD and quality improvement activities

Requirements:

  • Level 5 or higher teaching qualification with experience teaching in Further or Higher Education
  • Or a degree in a Science subject (Chemistry or Physics) and willing to work towards a teaching qualification
  • A learner-focused approach with strong communication skills
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • A commitment to equality, safeguarding and inclusive practice
