We are seeking a proactive and organised Science Laboratory Technician to support the delivery of practical Science lessons across the school. This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position, engaged on a freelance basis through green receipts (recibos verdes). This role is ideal for a recent Science graduate or someone considering a future career in education. It offers valuable experience working in a vibrant international school environment while supporting students and teachers in developing their scientific skills and knowledge.
Job Responsibility
Prepare and set up equipment, materials, and resources for Science practical lessons
Assist teachers during laboratory activities when required
Ensure laboratories are clean, organised, and ready for teaching and learning
Maintain safe working practices in accordance with school health and safety procedures
Monitor and manage laboratory stock, equipment, and consumables
Support the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and materials
Report maintenance, safety, or equipment issues promptly
Work closely with Science teachers to support effective lesson delivery
Assist with science-related events, projects, and extracurricular activities
Contribute positively to the wider school community and uphold school safeguarding expectations
Requirements
A degree in a Science-related field (or be close to completing one)
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
An interest in working with young people and learning more about education
The ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent communication skills and a positive, flexible approach
Previous laboratory or school experience is desirable but not essential
