Job Description:

The Look Out Discovery Centre is a very popular visitor attraction with a hands-on science and discovery exhibition, gift shop, coffee shop and play area, set in 1,000 hectares of Crown Estate woodlands. Located on the doorstep of the picturesque Swinley Forest, it is a hands-on science centre dedicated to inspiring children to enjoy science through approximately 100 interactive science exhibits and discovery shows.

Job Responsibility:

Present science shows to booked groups and the public
Host birthday parties in the science exhibition
Welcome customers at the door
Assist and care for the needs of visitors
Maintain high standards within the exhibition
Undertake cleaning duties
Ensure exhibits and facilities are clean
Facilitate the experience of visitors in the exhibition
Assist in the operation of exhibits
Help visitors gain a better understanding of educational content
Develop new skills through training and development
Run children’s birthday parties
Present shows or other activities

Requirements:

Enthusiastic, confident and reliable
Enjoys engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds
Thrives in interactive environments
Genuine passion for helping children explore and enjoy science
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Takes pride in providing an excellent visitor experience
Assist children with hands-on science activities
Ensure visits are fun, educational, safe and well-organised
