Questar III BOCES announces a full-time (6-week summer program) School RN position to support Questar III special education students during ESY. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide essential health services for our 6-week Extended School Year (ESY) program. Medication Administration: Safely administer daily and "as needed" (PRN) medications in strict accordance with physician orders and state regulations
Emergency Response: Act as the primary first responder for any medical emergencies, allergic reactions (EpiPen administration), or injuries on school grounds
IEP & 504 Implementation: Review and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and ensure all classroom staff are briefed on specific student medical triggers or needs
Staff Consultation: Train and advise teachers and 1:1 aides on universal precautions, seizure protocols, and signs of medical distress specific to their assigned students
Documentation: Maintain meticulous electronic or paper health records, including medication logs, incident reports, and communication with parents regarding health concerns
Triage & Assessment: Evaluate students who become ill during the program hours and determine if they should remain in school or be sent home
Requirements:
