Job Description:

SPG Therapy & Education is seeking School Psychologists for the upcoming school year to provide essential psychological assessments and support to students in accordance with educational guidelines. SPG Therapy & Education is currently hiring School Psychologists for school-based positions for the 2024-2025 School Year. SPG is dedicated to providing all employees with a unique mentoring program and maintaining strong, collaborative client relationships. Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments for referred students in accordance with California Department of Education and Federal guidelines
  • Prepare comprehensive, legally defensible written reports of assessment findings with diagnoses and specific recommendations, in accordance with State and Federal guidelines
  • Certify pupils’ eligibility for placement in special education services, programs or classes in accordance with their individual physical, mental and emotional needs
  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, following due process timelines
  • Provide counseling services to students, as needed
  • Provide consultative support to administrators, parents, students, school-based personnel and SPG staff on matters pertaining to special education procedures and guidelines, mental health issues, child development, student behavior, learning problems and relevant intervention strategies and recommendations

Requirements:

  • California PPS Credential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong speaking, writing, and listening skills and the ability to work as a collaborative and supportive team member
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Tuberculosis (TB) clearance

  • Prepares concise intake evaluations and treatment plans, and maintains ongoing confidential progress records in accord with state and NCQA regulations
  • Provides education and support to members and their families to encourage compliance with medical and behavioral regimes
  • Co-manages medical conditions through the use of nonpharmacologic and behavioral interventions in order to leverage physician time and develop appropriate patterns of utilization
  • Administers and evaluates psychological and neuropsychological tests on a limited basis
  • Collaborates with physicians in screening and evaluating patients for psychotropic medications, within the scope of practice
  • Provides consultation and training to other members of the APC team in the areas of mental health, behavioral medicine and health psychology
  • Provides consultation on program development, and conducts program evaluation and outcome assessment, as needed
  • Serves as liaison and refers to the Psychiatry Department, Chemical Dependency Services, Behavioral Health Education, specialty behavioral medicine services and other Medical Teams as appropriate
