Job Description

This role offers a starting salary of £23,322 per annum (full-time equivalent), which is equivalent to £12.42 per hour, along with an annual leave allowance. We have a number of part-time permanent and fixed term Catering Assistant positions available in over 250 schools throughout the County. Many of our staff work around 10 hours per week but there are positions from 10 to 20 hours. These positions are primarily Monday to Friday over the lunchtime period. Job Responsibility

Help to prepare and serve food
Set up the dining area
Serve children
Assist with clean up duties
Assist in the school kitchen to provide excellent customer service to children
May occasionally be asked to work in other local schools

Requirements

No specific qualifications required
Must be committed, motivated and a team player
Good communication skills
Ability to be flexible and adaptable
Capability to support the work of the Chef Manager
Eligibility to work in the UK

Sort and stack clean dishes
Carry clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas
Rewash soiled dishes before delivering
Wash pots, pans and trays by hand
Prepares trays for incoming order tickets with silverware, napkins, etc that are appropriate for each order
Ladles out soup/popcorn for orders as appropriate for each tray that requires it
Ensures communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, getting the status on dishes and calling out names/number of completed dishes to visitors when there is a back-up of outgoing orders
Informs the Front of House Associates when certain dishes or ingredients have run out and passing food requests from the Café Associate to the kitchen
Performing the finishing touches to completed dishes, such as adding garnishes and removing smudges
