This role focuses on delivering inclusive, high-quality sports events and school competitions, ensuring all pupils, including those with SEN, are supported and engaged. You’ll also lead accessible grassroots activities during holiday periods and work collaboratively across the LFC Foundation to design impactful, cross-departmental events that align with organisational priorities and enhance young people’s overall experience.
Job Responsibility:
Event Planning and Coordination: Plan, organise, and deliver football and multi-sport tournaments, competitions, festivals, and mini-leagues for both primary and secondary schools
Annual Calendar Management: Develop and manage an annual calendar of events aligned with the academic year
Inclusive Delivery: Design and deliver events tailored to meet the needs of a diverse range of participants, including SEN-specific formats
Grassroots Activation: Support on the delivery of grassroots sport festivals during half-terms and school holiday periods
Format Innovation: Introduce new and creative event formats that promote participation, inclusion, and enjoyment
Curriculum and Campaign Integration: Align events with school curriculum themes or key national campaigns
Pupil Leadership Opportunities: Facilitate opportunities for young people to support in officiating, coaching, or assisting with event delivery
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with School Games Organisers, grassroots clubs, and community organisations
External Representation: Represent the LFC Foundation at school sport partnership events, network meetings, and wider community sport forums
Referral Pathways: Create links between school competitions and external opportunities
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work effectively across Foundation departments and programmes
Monitoring and Evaluation: Collect feedback, participation data, and insight from events to assess quality
Insight-Driven Delivery: Use school-level data, local insight, and pupil voice to inform planning
Recognition and Celebration: Coordinate pupil and school celebration activities
Risk Management: Conduct detailed risk assessments and contingency plans
Quality Assurance: Ensure all events reflect the Foundation’s standards of professionalism, safeguarding, and inclusivity
Requirements:
Proven experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating school or community sports events, including tournaments and festivals
Strong understanding of football and a range of other sports
Ability to design inclusive and engaging formats suitable for both primary and secondary school pupils
Experience delivering inclusive provision, with the ability to adapt activities to meet the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Experience working effectively across departments and with partner organisations
Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with schools, teachers, and wider community stakeholders
Solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles within school and community sport settings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organised, confident in managing multiple events and priorities
Able to collect, analyse, and report data to demonstrate impact and support continuous improvement
Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools used for planning, communication, and evaluation

Flexible working approach, with willingness to work evenings, weekends, and during school holidays
Willing to travel independently to support delivery across the Liverpool City Region
