Job Description:

This amazing School in Hackney seeks to serve its community by providing excellent and creative education in a well mannered setting. The dedicated staff, amazing group of children and committed governors work hard to support strengths, improve weaknesses and remove any barriers that may prevent reaching potential. They are looking for an experienced Finance Manager committed to providing a highly effective and efficient administrative function to their stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to broaden their experience across a range of finance areas. The position requires Full time availability, 08:30am-16:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Job Responsibility:

  • To maintain systems to facilitate effective financial control within the school
  • To assist in the preparation of budgets
  • To facilitate the payment of authorised invoices
  • Maintain the school's financial and accountancy systems
  • Liaise with the school's payroll provider regarding the correct payment of staff salaries, including the administration of claims for travel and overtime
  • Ensure that the school obtains best possible value for money from suppliers and contractors
  • Manage school fund account, ensuring all income is accurately accounted for and receipts given for cash

Requirements:

  • Experience of finance and administration in a similar school sector environment
  • A sound knowledge of financial management and accounting procedures
  • Ability to identify work priorities and manage own workload to meet deadlines whilst ensuring that lower priority work is kept up to date
  • Competence in standard office software (Word, Outlook and Excel) essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively with persons at all levels
  • Eligibility to work in the UK - this is essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • 2 proven relevant experience
