Job Description

We are seeking a positive and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our Client who are high-energy school kitchen team here in Luton. In this role, you will play a vital part in making lunchtime a happy, healthy, and welcoming experience for our wonderful students and staff.

Job Responsibility

Food prep and service: help wash, peel, and chop fresh ingredients, set up service counters and serve meals
kitchen care: keep kitchen clean and safe by operating commercial dishwashers, washing pots, and wiping down prep stations
safety and standards: maintain high food hygiene ratings by following health and safety rules, tracking fridge temperatures, and practicing safe stock rotation (FIFO)
allergy awareness: ensure students with food allergies and special dietary needs receive correct safe meals

Requirements

A great attitude

physical stamina
experience & qualifications: previous kitchen or customer service experience is a plus, as is a basic Food Safety Certificate - but it is not essential

Requirements

Ability to build professional rapport with other employees
