Job Description

Lamers Bus Lines, a trusted name in transportation since 1944, is actively seeking a School Bus Terminal Manager to oversee daily operations at our school bus terminal. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to join a stable, family-focused company and make an impact in your local community. This position is ideal for candidates with prior transportation management experience and a valid CDL license (or willingness to obtain one). If you’re a strong communicator, team leader, and organized problem solver with a passion for safe, reliable transportation, we want to hear from you.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage daily operations including office staff, drivers, and mechanics
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and driver file maintenance for DOT compliance
  • Manage and schedule charter and school bus bookings
  • Maintain fleet condition, coordinate vehicle maintenance, and ensure equipment safety
  • Develop customer relationships and drive new business opportunities
  • Monitor customer billing and payment collections
  • Occasionally assist with driving
  • Coordinate building and grounds maintenance as needed

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or minimum 2 years of relevant transportation industry experience
  • Prior experience in school bus operations is a plus
  • Valid CDL (Class B or higher) with school bus and passenger endorsements or willingness to obtain – training provided
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic office software
  • ability to learn internal systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

Prior experience in school bus operations is a plus
