Job Description

Justteachers is looking for a dedicated and adaptable School Based Support Worker to join a friendly school in Trafford. This full‑time position involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them stay engaged, motivated and successful throughout their school day. This role starting in late April offers a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide day‑to‑day support to pupils with varying needs, including SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, sensory needs and general learning difficulties
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider staff to maintain a structured, positive and supportive learning environment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students by understanding their individual strengths, communication styles and learning requirements
  • Contribute to the school’s welcoming and inclusive ethos by acting as a positive role model and supporting pupils’ wellbeing and behaviour throughout the day

Requirements

  • Experience within the last two years supporting children or adults with SEN, behavioural needs or complex challenges in a school, SEMH/PRU, residential or care setting
  • A genuine passion for helping young people develop academically, socially and emotionally
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively within a school environment
  • Patience, empathy and resilience when supporting pupils with differing behaviours or personal needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and appropriate professional boundaries
  • Ability to provide two education‑based references from the past two years
