Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Schemes Underwriter to join a successful Professional Lines team writing a diverse portfolio of Traditional & Miscellaneous Professional Indemnity, along with some package business. You will play a key role within large PI book, handling underwriting referrals, managing broker relationships, and supporting senior underwriters with schemes development, portfolio management, and building new scheme propositions. This is a highly service-focused role requiring strong PI technical knowledge and confident relationship management skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Handle underwriting referrals across a range of PI-led professional lines
  • manage and enhance relationships with brokers, coverholders, and key partners
  • support senior underwriters with developing schemes and building portfolio strategy
  • underwrite business in line with risk appetite, authority, and compliance standards
  • assist with schemes analysis, performance reviews, and process improvements
  • work collaboratively with the wider Professional Lines team
  • represent the team in broker meetings, presentations, and relationship-building activities.

Requirements

  • Professional Indemnity experience
  • experience as a professional lines or open market underwriter
