This is a key site-based role responsible for the day-to-day management of a retirement housing scheme. You will ensure the building and grounds are safe, well-maintained and compliant, while providing a visible and supportive presence for residents. This is not a care role, but strong people skills and confidence working with older residents are essential.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the overall safety, security and presentation of the scheme
Raise and monitor responsive repairs and maintenance issues
Carry out health & safety checks and ensure compliance (including fire alarm testing and site inspections)
Monitor the condition of communal areas, grounds and building facilities
Act as a point of contact for residents, providing reassurance and support where required
Work with contractors and internal teams to ensure works are completed efficiently
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with housing and safety standards
Requirements:
Experience in housing, scheme management, facilities, or a similar property-based role
Strong understanding of health & safety and building compliance
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work sensitively with older residents
Ability to work independently and manage a site effectively
Full UK driving licence preferred
If non-driver, ability to commute to the main office at Birmingham Business Park (B37 7YN) when required
