Job Description:

The Scheduling Specialist role is divided between two distinct roles: Scheduling Specialist and Onsite Arrival Team Member. Each role plays a critical part in ensuring our patients receive timely and efficient care. The person who fills this position will fulfill the responsibilities of Onsite Arrival Team Member.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs scheduling and coordinates simple and complex patient appointments for respective clinics, both in person and over the telephone using an automated patient scheduling system
  • triages patient problems, schedules any related tests and procedures and provides appropriate patient instructions
  • ability to communicate in an effective and competent manner to ensure a positive outcome in person or on the phone
  • develops collaborative relationships with peers, patients, providers and visitors
  • work onsite at the hospital and off site locations, welcome and check in patients for their radiology appointments
  • verify patient information, complete check in procedures and ensure patients are ready for their appointments
  • assist patients with any questions or concerns they may have upon arrival
  • assist some patients with changing procedures for their appointment
  • enter orders for Mammography and Xray patients and some scheduling of these procedures

Requirements:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least six months of experience as a Scheduling Specialist I
