We’re looking for a highly organised Scheduler to join our fast-paced operations team, supporting the efficient delivery of highway response works. In this role, you’ll plan and programme works using specialist systems, ensuring the right resources are deployed at the right time while maintaining strong communication with operational teams and stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in incident response coordination, maintaining accurate logs, supporting winter service planning, and ensuring all works meet required timescales and standards. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you’ll help keep operations running smoothly and safely across the network.
Job Responsibility
Schedule and allocate works efficiently, ensuring timelines and resource requirements are met
Coordinate closely with operational teams and control centres to manage live incidents
Use systems such as Confirm, Power BI and ServiceNow to support planning and reporting
Maintain accurate logs and ensure all work orders are correctly detailed and compliant
Support winter operations, including daily reporting and forecast reviews
Update road space bookings and relevant systems where required
Communicate effectively across teams via radio, phone, email and messaging platforms
Manage fluctuating workloads and reprioritise as needed in a fast-moving environment
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Deliver clear handovers between shifts to ensure continuity of operations
Requirements
Strong organisational and coordination skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicator, able to liaise with a range of stakeholders
Comfortable working under pressure and responding to changing priorities
Computer literate, with experience using operational or scheduling systems
Ideally experienced in a call centre, logistics, or operational environment (highways knowledge is advantageous)
A proactive team player with a flexible and positive approach
