We are looking for a detail-oriented Scanning Clerk to support high-volume document imaging operations in Chicago, Illinois. This is a Contract position focused on transforming paper records into accurate, accessible digital files while maintaining confidentiality and consistent quality standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with scanning equipment, organizing large batches of documents, and ensuring each file is properly captured and classified.
Job Responsibility
Prepare, sort, and organize incoming paper files so they are ready for efficient high-volume scanning
Operate document imaging and scanning equipment to create clear, complete electronic records from physical materials
Review scanned images for readability, completeness, and proper alignment to uphold quality expectations
Assign accurate index information and file categories so digital documents can be stored and retrieved easily
Handle sensitive records with discretion and follow established procedures for secure document processing
Save and distribute digitized files to approved storage media, including CDs or other designated digital formats when needed
Maintain an orderly workflow by tracking document batches and resolving issues that could affect turnaround time or accuracy
Requirements
Previous experience in document scanning, records administration, imaging support, or electronic file archiving is preferred
Familiarity with production-level scanners, imaging devices, and related document capture software
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify image quality issues and correct processing errors
Ability to manage repetitive, high-volume tasks while staying organized and accurate throughout the day
Understanding of quality assurance practices in a document handling or records environment
Detail-oriented approach to confidential information and secure record management
Basic ability to follow documented procedures and work independently within established workflows
