Job Description

Are you looking for a SCADA Engineer E2 role and have adequate experience in the field? This contract role maybe a right fit for you. General Description • The E2 – Engineer performs supervised engineering tasks for assignments of limited scope and complexity using standard procedures and techniques to support projects and/or operations at BC Hydro safely, with quality, within budget, and on time. Job Responsibility

  • Work in design, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of SCADA systems in electrical utility substations with operating voltages from 12kV to 500kV
  • Prepare project documentation and deliverables in accordance with project and Engineering Design Practices
  • Prepare design work packages including scope, duration, and level of effort estimates
  • Provide technical assistance and construction support in the field, and undertake field reviews as required by EGBC
  • Prepare detailed SCADA design packages, device point assignments, and configurations
  • Configuring/program RTUs, gateway devices, user interfaces, network switches/routers, and other IEDs related to the SCADA systems
  • Specify and procure materials, panel assemblies and other related equipment
  • Test and validate device configurations in a lab environment
  • Prepare and execute pre-commissioning test plans for SCADA systems
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the design process
  • Provide training for end-users and peers on the theory and operational use of the installed or modified equipment/systems

Requirements

  • University graduate in applied science or engineering
  • Registered Engineer-in-Training at the of submission
  • Must be able to come to office on hybrid basis.

Nice to have

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience in automation or control systems
  • Experience with DNP3, networking protocols, Cyber Security and delivering M2M networking applications
  • Experience with programming of GE Remote Terminal Units
  • Knowledge of NERC standards
