Job Description

We are looking for an experienced SBA Portfolio Operations Manager to oversee the effective management of our SBA loan portfolio. This role, located in Twin Cities, involves ensuring the financial health of the organization through detailed monitoring, servicing, and reporting of loans. The ideal candidate will excel in analyzing requests, developing efficient processes, and collaborating with stakeholders to maintain high standards of portfolio management.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor existing loan portfolios and collaborate with customers, attorneys, bankers, and insurance agents
  • Manage routine portfolio tasks such as tracking insurance payments, real estate taxes, and bank balances, while coordinating efforts with internal team members
  • Develop and maintain internal systems to document portfolio activities, ensuring deadlines are consistently met
  • Create and implement reporting structures for portfolio management, providing quarterly updates and highlighting areas of concern
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of loan information, ensuring it aligns with organizational needs
  • Address customer inquiries regarding loan modifications, assumptions, subordination, and release of collateral
  • Analyze and document servicing requests, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution through effective monitoring systems
  • Lead efforts to resolve problem loan situations, working closely with borrowers, banks, legal counsel, and other stakeholders under the direction of senior leadership
  • Communicate with customers and relevant parties to address questions and resolve issues related to loan servicing
  • Monitor late payments, technical defaults, and other key indicators, maintaining a watchlist to ensure timely and high-quality servicing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of detail-oriented experience, ideally in commercial real estate, banking, accounting, or finance
  • Proficiency in loan administration, including SBA 504 and SBA 7(a) lending processes
  • Solid understanding of commercial lending and bank operations
  • Experience with loan servicing and portfolio management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex servicing requests
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
