This Contract to permanent position involves overseeing loan closing operations, managing workflows, and ensuring efficient execution within a high-volume environment. The role offers a great opportunity to contribute to the growth and structure of our loan processing platform while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the closing process for 7(a), 504, and other commercial loans, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the closing team, overseeing SLAs and workflow management
  • Build and maintain a structured, consistent, and collaborative team environment as the platform scales
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to navigate system implementations and process changes
  • Ensure loan closings align with regulatory and compliance standards, maintaining detailed documentation
  • Drive operational efficiency in a manual workflow environment while transitioning to new systems
  • Monitor deal execution, resolving issues with a solutions-oriented approach
  • Support team development by fostering a positive culture and providing opportunities for growth
  • Adapt to changing processes and priorities to meet organizational goals
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine operational strategies and improve platform performance

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in commercial loan closing, particularly SBA 7(a) and 504 loans
  • Proven ability to operate in a high-volume, detail-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on compliance
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams and workflows
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to process changes or system transitions
  • Familiarity with Preferred Lender Program (PLP) operations and delegated authority
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Coordinate with ISV Operations teams (Kuala Lumpur and Paris) and hold regular meetings with Middle & Back-office (TMU/ISV Sector/ISV Ops Paris/KL) to address required adjustments, manage CRE rejects, and ensure all necessary monthly adjustments are submitted to Finance for processing
  • Perform weekly controls on funding positions for loans via an internal tool IBTOOL (ensuring that our Loan deals are correctly covered by internal funding deals), as well as weekly controls of manual accounting entries (samples) & monthly control of Nostro breaks
  • Conduct SOX controls
  • Perform monthly Accounting Certification of Balance-Sheet & Off-Balance Sheet accounts
  • Regularly produce reports for ISV Ops/ATS, TMU/OCS/ISV Sector, and respond to ad hoc queries on different topics from external auditors, tax administration, and finance department
  • Oversee the establishment of new FCTs, ensure the safekeeping and accurate inventory of assets, and certify asset existence for external auditors twice yearly
  • Verify management company decisions for legal and regulatory compliance through semi-annual controls, monitor publishable legal information, and manage the normal or early termination of operations
  • Establish and update documentation detailing HSBC’s custodian responsibilities, submit reports to the AMF with Compliance support, and annually revise operational procedures and regulatory documents
