Job Description:

To unload log trucks and place logs in inventory. Also, to keep the stem deck supplied with logs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate cranes and hoists, transfer loads, inspect equipment, maintain logs, perform basic repairs, set up machinery, coordinate with ground operators, follow safety guidelines. Safety, Quality Assurance, Housekeeping, and Maintenance tasks included.

Job Responsibility:

  • Unload log trucks and place logs in inventory
  • Keep the stem deck supplied with logs
  • Operate cranes and hoists safely
  • Transfer loads from log trucks and place in inventory
  • Inspect machinery and equipment for safety compliance
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and daily operations
  • Perform basic repairs on machines as needed
  • Set up machinery correctly following manuals
  • Coordinate with ground operators and interpret hand and verbal signals
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines

Requirements:

  • Previous experience: Prior experience as a crane operator or in a similar role
  • Familiarity with various crane types
  • Ability to lift heavy loads, work at heights, and stand for extended periods
  • Accuracy and precision in executing tasks
  • Must meet safety requirements and pass drug and background check
