Satellite Structural Engineer – Space Systems & EO Satellites. Do you want to design the structures that will carry tomorrow’s spacecraft into orbit? Join our NewSpace client – a growing, mission-driven engineering team building advanced satellite platforms that enable the next generation of space-based Earth observation and data systems. The Role: We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and optimisation of satellite structural components and assemblies. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of engineers to ensure structural integrity, manufacturability, and mission success across all spacecraft systems.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the design and development of lightweight, high-performance structural components for satellites and subsystems
Perform detailed structural and vibration analyses using FEA tools to validate designs for launch and on-orbit environments
Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions
Support material selection, manufacturing process definition, and assembly methods
Create and maintain CAD models, technical drawings, and associated documentation
Contribute to design reviews, analysis reports, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support structural testing, verification, and validation campaigns
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience in structural design and analysis, ideally within the aerospace or space sector
Proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Abaqus
Experience using CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA, or Autodesk Inventor)
Understanding of space-grade materials, structural testing methods, and load environments
Strong communication skills and fluency in English
Nice to have:
Familiarity with ECSS, NASA, or equivalent aerospace standards
Hands-on experience with mechanical subsystems such as mechanisms, actuators, or thermal hardware
Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
