Job Description

We’re working with a leading European small-satellite manufacturer developing nextgeneration Earth Observation missions. The team designs, builds, integrates, and operates spacecraft fully in-house, covering platforms from CubeSats through to ~250kg class satellites. They’re now looking for an experienced SAR End-to-End Systems Engineer to lead the design and performance of complete SAR remote sensing systems, from spaceborne payload definition through to ground segment, processing chains, and final data products.

Job Responsibility

  • Defining and maintaining end-to-end SAR system architectures
  • Translating user needs into system-level requirements with full traceability
  • Leading SAR payload concept definition and system trade-offs
  • Performing end-to-end performance analyses (resolution, swath, NESZ, coverage, latency, product quality)
  • Ensuring alignment between payload design, processing, calibration, and data products
  • Supporting system and payload reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, QR)
  • Working closely with payload, AIT, ground segment, and operations teams
  • Supporting commissioning, calibration, and validation strategies

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Telecoms, Electronics, or similar
  • 5+ years’ experience in SAR systems, EO missions, or remote sensing
  • Strong background in spaceborne SAR principles and performance drivers
  • Experience with SAR data processing chains and product generation
  • Systems engineering experience across payload, mission, and ground segments
  • Familiarity with ECSS / space engineering standards
  • Fluent English
