Job Description

The SAP S/4HANA PP/QM Lead will be responsible for leading Production Planning and Quality Management workstreams in large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation projects. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of SAP experience, particularly in PP and QM, with a focus on solution design and delivery governance. Candidates should have strong stakeholder management skills and experience in global delivery models. Preferred qualifications include SAP S/4HANA certification and industry experience in manufacturing or related fields.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead PP and QM workstreams in SAP S/4HANA transformation programs (Greenfield, Brownfield, or Selective Data Transition)
  • Own end-to-end delivery of Plan-to-Produce, Production Execution, and Quality processes
  • Act as the primary escalation point for PP / QM-related topics
  • Drive solution design and hands-on configuration for SAP PP and SAP QM
  • Ensure adoption of S/4HANA manufacturing and quality simplifications and innovations
  • Guide decisions on Discrete vs Process Manufacturing scenarios
  • Lead Fit-to-Standard (F2S) workshops and business process harmonization
  • Assess and manage custom code (RICEFW) impacts for PP / QM in S/4HANA
  • Lead manufacturing and quality master data conversion and validation activities
  • Coordinate closely with MM, WM/EWM, SD, PM, and FI/CO teams
  • Ensure seamless integration across Procure-to-Produce and Make-to-Deliver processes
  • Collaborate with technical teams (ABAP, CPI, interfaces) on enhancements and integrations
  • Lead unit testing, SIT, UAT, and defect resolution for PP / QM
  • Own cutover planning for production orders, batches, and inspection lots
  • Provide go-live and hypercare support, ensuring manufacturing stability
  • Ensure adherence to SAP Activate methodology, project standards, and documentation
  • Review and approve functional designs, configurations, and test artifacts
  • Mentor PP / QM consultants and support knowledge transfer

Requirements

  • 10–12+ years of SAP experience with strong hands-on expertise in SAP PP (Discrete and/or Process Manufacturing)
  • At least 2–3 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA transformation projects in a Lead role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and quality management processes
  • Experience with S/4HANA MRP and production execution simplifications
  • Experience with QM integration with MM and PP
  • Experience with Batch Management, Serial Numbers, and Inspection Lot Processing
  • Proven experience leading PP / QM delivery in large SAP programs
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working in global onshore–offshore delivery models
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions
  • Mentoring and coaching mindset
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills

Nice to have

  • Exposure to Advanced Planning (PP/DS, IBP) is an advantage
  • Knowledge on LeanIX, Signavio for process flow preparation and discussion with business team, is an added advantage
  • SAP S/4HANA certification in PP or QM
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology
  • Industry experience in Manufacturing, Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, or Consumer Goods
  • Exposure to EWM, PM, or Advanced ATP is a plus
