Job Description

We are looking for an SAP Project Manager to lead delivery efforts for financial services initiatives in New York, New York. This Long-term Contract position blends Agile facilitation with hands-on project leadership, requiring someone who can guide teams, coordinate stakeholders, and keep delivery aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, practical project controls knowledge, and the ability to translate evolving requirements into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to maintain momentum and transparency across the project team
  • Oversee project scope, timelines, staffing plans, budgets, and risk items while providing clear status updates to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Partner with business and technical teams to gather requirements and convert them into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Monitor day-to-day progress against commitments, identify delivery challenges early, and drive corrective actions to keep work on track
  • Remove blockers that slow team performance and foster an environment that supports collaboration, accountability, and consistent execution
  • Balance product priorities with technical considerations by working closely with the product owner and engineering team to support sound delivery decisions
  • Promote adherence to established delivery processes and ensure team members understand how work should be planned, tracked, and completed
  • Support quality outcomes by helping coordinate testing efforts, managing defect follow-up, and encouraging refactoring to reduce technical debt
  • Facilitate resolution of team conflicts and minimize outside distractions so the group can remain focused on delivering business value

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or a related field
  • Experience leading projects and/or serving in a Scrum leadership capacity within complex delivery environments
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale initiatives simultaneously while maintaining control of priorities and deadlines
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, financial oversight, and the controls needed for consulting or delivery-based work
  • Proven skill in estimating work, defining scope, and building realistic project schedules
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with business analysis or software testing practices is helpful
  • Certified ScrumMaster certification is a plus

  • Refine and implement project related standards, templates, and procedures. Ensure training of Team staff on the use of tools, templates, procedures, and standards as part of the SAP Deployment Effort
  • Lead cross-functional teams to understand current state, future state landscape, organizational, master data and business processes and requirements
  • Lead configuration requirement efforts and work to ensure that SAP settings meet requirements identified with customer
  • Lead creation of functional specification for developments and support effectively communication between Functional Team and Development teams to understand Functional Specification documentation and to be able to build Technical Specifications for development of technical designs
