Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Billing and FI‑CA Consultant to support and enhance our utilities business processes. The ideal candidate has a strong functional background in SAP for Utilities, with deep expertise in Billing & Invoicing, and Contract Accounting (FI‑CA). This role involves solution design, configuration, testing, incident resolution, and support during project implementations or ongoing operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for SAP IS-U Billing and FI‑CA
  • Configure SAP IS-U components: Billing & Invoicing (IS-U/BI), Rate Structure, RTP, Schema Development, Scheduling & Billing Execution
  • Configure FI‑CA processes: Business Partner, Contract Accounts, Payment processing (inbound/outbound), Dunning & Collections, Interest calculation, Clearing & Reconciliation
  • Ensure integration across IS-U modules (DM, EDM, AMI,..) and with SAP FI/CO
  • Provide 2nd/3rd-level support for Billing and FI‑CA issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects, inconsistencies, and performance problems
  • Prepare and maintain documentation (process flows, configuration guides, test scripts)
  • Prepare and execute unit, integration, and regression test scenarios
  • Support UAT cycles with business teams
  • Validate data migration objects related to invoicing, partner accounts, and balances
  • Participate in SAP rollout, upgrade, or migration projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Basis, Development, Middleware, Finance)
  • Assist in designing new business solutions and optimizing existing processes
  • Support go-live and hypercare activities
  • Act as a trusted advisor for business stakeholders in Billing and FI‑CA topics
  • Provide functional expertise during workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and training

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience as a SAP IS‑U Consultant
  • Strong knowledge of IS-U Billing (Rates, Schemas, RTP), and FI‑CA
  • Understanding of utilities business processes (electricity, gas)
  • Familiarity with IDE/IDEXPF (market communication)
  • Ability to debug ABAP (reading logs/traces
  • coding not required)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement

Nice to have:

  • Experience with S/4HANA for Utilities, particularly S/4 FI‑CA migration
  • Knowledge of AMI / Smart Metering processes
