Job Description

We are seeking a Senior SAP Functional Consultant specializing in Funds Management (FM) to join a specialized support team during a critical post-implementation phase. This role is essential for stabilizing financial processes, resolving system defects, and implementing high-priority functionalities deferred from the initial deployment. You will act as a subject matter expert, ensuring that system configurations for budgeting, availability control, and treasury management align with industry best practices and organizational accounting standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide expert troubleshooting, issue identification, and defect resolution for high-priority tickets within the Funds Management environment
  • Configure financial software modules with a primary focus on Funds Management (FM) and Treasury and Risk Management (TRM)
  • Validate proposed system functionality against best-practice designs
  • translate technical specifications into functional requirements for development objects
  • Update and review test scripts and cases
  • develop and execute plans for regression testing related to post-live enhancements
  • Analyze end-to-end FM and TRM processes to identify improvement areas that can be addressed using Standard software functionality
  • Lead the movement from post-live support to long-term sustainment, updating business process documentation and developing updated training materials
  • Collaborate with Business Process Leads and vendor leads to ensure seamless integration between core platforms and external solutions

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale system management within enterprise-level organizations or large-scale private sector environments
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise financial modules: Funds Management (FM) and Treasury (TRM), with a working knowledge of FICO and Project Systems
  • Deep expertise in functions such as Budgeting, Planning, Availability Control (AVC), Debt Management, and Cash/Liquidity Management
  • Delivery of at least 2 end-to-end enterprise implementations
  • Extensive experience with standard implementation methodologies (e.g., SAP Activate, PMBOK) and diverse delivery methods (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative)
  • Working knowledge of Change Request Management tools (e.g., SAP Solution Manager ChaRM) is a significant asset
  • Professional certification in SAP Funds Management (FM) is highly desirable
  • Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Validate AP/AR integration with Funds Accounting, including fund derivation, commitment updates, grant posting logic, revenue postings, and billing processes
  • Reconfigure and test payment program, check printing, ACH, lockbox, positive pay, EBS, and Bank Accounting integration, including S/4HANA Cash Management where applicable
  • Convert Cost Centers, Internal Orders, Statistical Key Figures, WBS elements, asset master data, asset values, and depreciation areas along with required open balances, commitments, and actuals
  • Rebuild and validate allocation cycles, assessments, distributions, overhead costing, PS settlement rules, and budget controls in S/4HANA
  • Convert Classic Asset Accounting to New Asset Accounting and validate AUC settlement, grant-funded assets, parallel depreciation, and GL-to-subledger reconciliation
