Job Description

The SAP Data Lead will oversee data migration activities for a large-scale SAP deployment, requiring expertise in SAP ECC and S/4 HANA. The role demands strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of data migration processes. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead Data Migration Efforts: Oversee all aspects of data migration activities, including planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines
  • Data Strategy Development: Design and implement data migration strategies, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) methodologies
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to gather requirements and ensure data readiness for migration
  • Data Quality Assurance: Conduct data assessments and cleansing activities to ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the migration process
  • Testing and Validation: Manage the testing phases, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate data post-migration and address any discrepancies
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data migration processes, including data mapping, transformation rules, and migration plans
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders, facilitating training sessions on data migration best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data migration, specifically within SAP ECC / S/4 HANA environments
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data governance, and data quality management principles
  • Proven experience leading data migration projects and managing cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
