Job Description

The organisation operates as a Shared Service Centre (SSC) in Accounting, serving as a central unit within the REWE Group. It provides standardised business processes for multiple business units and companies, while also consolidating specialised expertise. We are opening a new Shared Service Centre in Sofia. About the role The SAP Business Analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams, translating business needs into technical solutions within SAP systems. The role is part of a team responsible for process and system design at the interface between accounting, the tax department, and IT service providers. We are the point of contact for creating guidelines for balance sheet presentation of accounting matters in accordance with local law, IFRS, and tax law.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and optimise business processes within the context of our group-wide SAP system
  • Ensure correct mapping of financial accounting issues
  • Act as a point of contact for the accounting units and tax departments of the REWE Group companies
  • Create central posting guidelines and support major accounting-related changes
  • As part of our group responsibility, ensure compliance with group-wide requirements
  • Provide uniform and efficient procedures for the entire, internationally positioned REWE Group
  • Monitor functional synchronisation of the systems involved and ensure data quality
  • Analyse functional process requirements and ensure company-wide, cross-functional coordination and documentation

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience with SAP financial applications (R/3 and S/4HANA), including relevant Customising
  • Experience in optimising and designing business processes in a financial or accounting environment
  • Hands-on with interface technologies such as BTP, IDoc, and batch input
  • A degree in Business, Economics, IT, or similar education and training
  • Very good command of German and English

Nice to have

  • SAP DRC (Document and Reporting Compliance)
  • SAP TC (Tax Compliance)
  • Expertise in financial accounting, particularly in the area of value-added tax (VAT)
  • Familiarity with VAT reporting processes in a European country
