An industrial cleaner maintains safety, hygiene, and efficiency in factories, warehouses, and manufacturing plants by cleaning heavy machinery, removing hazardous waste, and sanitizing production areas. This role requires operating specialized equipment (high-pressure hoses, floor scrubbers), following strict safety protocols (PPE, OSHA), and managing waste disposal.
Job Responsibility:
Machinery Sanitation: Deep cleaning and sanitizing production machinery, conveyor belts, and assembly lines
Facility Maintenance: Cleaning floors (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing), walls, ceilings, and common areas
Hazardous Waste Management:Collecting, storing, and disposing of industrial waste, dust, and ash according to regulations
Specialized Cleaning: Operating industrial vacuums, pressure washers, and, if trained, Power Industrial facilities
Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations (e.g., GMP) and using proper protective equipment (PPE)
Reporting: Identifying and reporting maintenance needs or safety hazards to supervisors
Requirements:
Previous experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is often preferred
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand/walk for long periods
Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA standards, chemical handling, and PPE
Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and reliability
Education: High School Diploma or GED is generally required
