The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the process equipment to establish a clean environment for producing and packaging quality products. Ensures equipment and facility are effectively sanitized in accordance with established food manufacturing regulations and in compliance with government sanitation requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Clean and sanitize process equipment to establish a clean environment for producing and packaging quality products
Ensure equipment and facility are effectively sanitized in accordance with established food manufacturing regulations and government sanitation requirements
Maintain general housekeeping in all areas of plant
Report all job-related injuries to management
Identify/report defective equipment
Remove product debris to trash
May perform other duties as required
Requirements:
High school diploma/GED
1-year production experience in manufacturing environment required
Ability to perform plant cleaning as prescribed by the Master Sanitation Schedule
Ability to utilize powered cleaning equipment
Ability to operate equipment such as floor jacks, trash compactor, vacuum cleaner, floor scrubber in a safe manner
Ability to follow instructions for safe lifting and carrying
Ability to disassemble and reassemble machines, pumps, bucket elevators, slurry equipment, filters and other processing equipment
Ability to work independently with no direct supervision
Learn and perform proper Allergen Elimination Procedure
Adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures
Follow all applicable GMP's
Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Participate in all necessary safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives
Read Safety Data Sheets and prepare/use chemical cleaning agents
Assist departments in spill containment
Assist pest control technicians by noting and communicating pest activity
Lock-out Tag-out and BBP (blood borne pathogens) trained
Support and participate Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S
Collect recyclables and load into proper trailers
Mix and handle chemical concentrates
May input chemical concentrates into excel
May Create/Update Standard Operating Procedures
Physical requirements: Standing continuously, Walking continuously, Using hands continuously, Climbing frequently, Stooping/Kneeling frequently, Lifting up to 100 lbs frequently, Lifting more than 100 lbs frequently
