The sanitation worker is a member of a Sanitation team whose duties are to clean, sanitize and maintain the Manufacturing plant. This will involve but is not limited to cleaning and sanitizing: production areas, machines, and equipment in food processing facility. The sanitation crew is required to work quickly and efficiently during relatively short time periods between the plant's normal production shifts and be able to work as a team along with other members of the team, under stressful conditions and be flexible and willing to perform varying tasks per the supervisor's instructions and in accordance with all safety and regulatory guidelines.
Job Responsibility:
Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during long periods of time
Follow routine verbal and written instructions
Dismantle, cleans, and reassembles machine/production equipment
Follow safety, food safety (HACCP, GMP’s, and Sanitation SOP’s) regulatory and operating procedures
Follow procedures for handling, storing, moving and using chemical cleaners, in accordance with plant SOPs
Gather and empty trash
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using approved cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
Monitor building cleanliness and safety by performing such tasks as placing caution signs as need, checking chemicals are properly stored, and dispensing bottles are clearly mark. Ensure that hazards are not created
Move supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks (pallet jack)
Set up, arrange, and remove production tables, chairs, to prepare facilities for pre and/or post operations
Other jobs as assigned
Requirements:
1 year experience in food, beverage or dairy processing/manufacturing environment
