Job Responsibility:
Train and oversee daily actions of Sanitation and Housekeeping personnel to maintain compliance with SSOP’s
Discuss employee progress and strategies for improvement with FSQ Manager
Recognize procedure, policy, and safety violations and report these to the FSQA Manager or Safety Manager
Employee Reviews
Schedule Sanitation and Housekeeping employees to keep overtime at a minimum.
Understand the use of chemicals and SDS sheets. Make sure that all sanitation and housekeeping employees are following proper procedures with regards to chemicals.
Have complete understanding of LOTO procedures and enforce the use of LOTO with all employees.
Work with FSQ Manager to maintain steady crews and reduce turnover.
Provide a good example of leadership and demonstrate the importance of teamwork and cooperation.
Follow the Master Cleaning Schedule using SOP’s for the effectiveness of the sanitation crews cleaning to keep micro counts down.
Swab according to the swab schedule
Perform allergen testing as needed according to the production schedule.
Fill out Post Sanitation Records in Redzone with a Production Representative.
Fill out Daily Housekeeping Cleanliness Verification in Red Zone.
Create and follow up on Redzone actions as needed.
Oversee cleanup after maintenance has done work on the production line and fill out “Hold For Sanitation” in Red Zone.
Oversee cleanup of blood & bodily fluids and fill out “Blood Borne & Bodily Fluid Incident Report” in Redzone.
Review attendance daily & code as needed.
Requirements:
Some industrial sanitation experience is helpful but training is provided
High school diploma or GED is a plus
Ability to read labels and safety instructions on cleaning chemicals
Ability to work with industrial cleaning chemicals (safety training, PPE provided)
Excellent attendance
Physical demands. Requires the ability to perform fast-paced manual labor including: Standing and walking, 8+ hours per day
Constant bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, pushing, repetitive wrist and hand motion
Frequent overhead reaching
Frequent lifting and carrying of 20 pounds, possible lifting up to 50 pounds
Kneeling, crouching, crawling as needed
Ability to climb stairs, step stools, step ladders
Dress code: Sanitation PPE is provided and required. GMP's required in the plant. Hairnets, beard nets, and uniforms are worn. No watches, jewelry, piercings, false fingernails or nail polish permitted. No dresses, skirts, shorts, capris, or pants with holes. New slip-resistant footwear is required

Language skills: Requires the ability to understand and follow instructions and to communicate effectively one-on-one and in small groups

Strong Supervisory Skills with the ability to lead, manage, and train sanitation staff.
Knowledge and experience in Food Science, Food Manufacturing, and related processes.
Expertise in Quality Assurance and adherence to food safety and compliance standards.
Proficiency in developing and implementing sanitation procedures and regulations.
Problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Previous experience in sanitation supervision or food manufacturing is preferred.
