Lead the team that protects product quality and food safety every day. As a Sanitation Supervisor, you will oversee sanitation operations and ensure full compliance with company standards, USDA regulations, and food safety protocols. You will partner closely with the Site Sanitation Manager and collaborate with Food Safety Quality Assurance, Operations, and Maintenance to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic production environment. In this role, you will lead sanitation teams, execute sanitation programs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen efficiency, compliance, and overall plant performance. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about food safety, team development, and operational excellence.
Job Responsibility:
Lead daily sanitation activities to ensure effective cleaning and compliance with SSOPs, GMPs, and HACCP requirements
Implement and monitor the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Periodic Cleaning (PIC/PEC), and sanitation verification processes (ATP, allergen, pathogen testing)
Train and coach sanitation team members on safety, hygiene, and cleaning procedures
Conduct audits and inspections to verify sanitation effectiveness and regulatory compliance
Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, chemical usage, and personnel performance
Support environmental hygiene initiatives and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement efforts
Ensure sanitation equipment and infrastructure meet hygienic design standards
Mentor and coach team members on enhancing skills while managing performance and learning and development of the team
Collaborate with maintenance to monitor and address equipment issues to minimize downtime
Optimize labor and equipment usage to ensure cost-effective operations while meeting standards
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment with 1+ year in a lead role
In depth knowledge of sanitation processes and compliance standards (i.e. USDA, OSHA, etc.)
Associate Degree (highly preferred)
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on associate development
Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well to a wide range of constituents
Must be able to function well as a member of a team
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, Holidays and overtime as needed
