Job Description

Our client is seeking a dedicated Water Sampling and Regulations Technician. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water for residential properties. Your responsibilities will include monitoring water quality, conducting inspections, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Water Analysis: Perform detailed sampling and analysis of drinking water from residential properties
  • Risk Identification: Spot and escalate potential risks to water quality promptly
  • Plumbing Inspections: Inspect customers' plumbing systems to ensure they meet safety standards
  • Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service while engaging with the public
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities meet quality standards and maintain accreditation
  • Documentation: Keep meticulous records and update databases with accurate information
  • On-Call Duties: Participate in an on-call rota as required

  • Accountable for water sampling activities, ensuring they meet regulatory program requirements and adhere to DWTS UKAS 17025 standard
  • Ensure the proper storage and transportation of drinking water samples to a suitable location
  • Prepare, calibrate, operate, and maintain equipment and instruments used to evaluate the quality of water samples
  • Conduct fittings inspections to ensure installed plumbing systems are compliant, identifying risks to water quality and any issues relating to the waste, undue consumption, or misuse of water
  • Undertake unscheduled visits to customer residential and commercial properties
  • Provide high-quality customer service and deal with customers in a professional and efficient manner
  • Liaise with the Water Sampling Manager and Regulations and Compliance Officer, and report any non-conformances to them
