Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sample Manager to join our garment factory, as part of the product development team. The successful candidate will work closely with tech and production teams, managing sample development and critical path.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage critical path of all style development assigned, within collections
  • Translate and issue designs to sample room and suppliers
  • Input style data into AirTable and ERP systems
  • Upload fabrication details, patterns and sample status onto AirTable
  • Order fabrics and trims for sampling
  • Perform daily sample fittings and communicate any issues with technicians and PD team, before updating fitting comments and sample status
  • Translate and issue fit comments to sample room and suppliers
  • Coordinate and send panels to outsource suppliers as required
  • Facilitate and obtain artwork approval from PD managers
  • Provide a summary of fabrics and trims to planning team
  • Ensure accurate input of sample costing data into ERP system
  • Arrange necessary QC testing, ensuring any risk is taking into account and resolved in product development stage
  • Arrange shoot samples once grading has been approved
  • Prep and plan purchasing of trims and accessories for shoot samples
  • Fit shoot samples with the technical team, ensure all measurements are accurate and images are recording
  • Create packing lists for shoot samples dispatched

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-8 years of merchandising experience, with a background in womenswear apparel
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English
  • Background in working with out source suppliers
  • Strong organisational skills and critical path management
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail with strong follow-through
  • Ability to manage the development of multiple collections simultaneously
  • Confident communicator with factories and cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable working with digital tools and systems, particularly Airtable and ERP

  • Coordinate with stylists, FO, and merchandising teams to determine samples that should be retained, stored, or transferred to other channels (e.g., Sample Sale) following photography completion
  • Direct and manage the Accenture on-site sample coordination team to ensure performance standards are met, daily operations are maintained, and global merchandising priorities are supported
  • Partner with the facilities team to assess and refine physical space allocations, creating clearly labeled, logically organized, and easily accessible zones for all merchandise categories
  • Lead the implementation of formal merchandise tracking tools and sample management systems that support cross-functional visibility and reduce sample loss or inefficiencies
