Job Description

The Salesforce Test Automation Engineer role requires 6-10 years of experience in QA with a strong focus on Salesforce testing and automation using Copado Robotic Testing. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing automation test scripts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring quality in Salesforce releases. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential for success in this position.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automation test scripts using Copado Robotic Testing (CRT) for Salesforce (Lightning)
  • Build and manage automated suites for regression, smoke, and functional testing across Salesforce releases
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Salesforce Admins/Developers, and QA leads to refine acceptance criteria and test coverage
  • Validate Salesforce functionality across objects, flows, approvals, integrations, and security model changes
  • Analyze automation failures, troubleshoot root causes (data, permissions, UI changes, environment issues), and drive defect resolution
  • Maintain test assets, test data needs, and documentation
  • report execution metrics and quality status
  • Support agile delivery: participate in planning, daily syncs, demos, retros, and release readiness checkpoints

Requirements

  • 6–10 years in QA with strong test automation experience
  • Salesforce testing experience is mandatory (Lightning Experience)
  • Understanding of standard/custom objects, fields, record types, page layouts, flows, validation rules
  • Working knowledge of profiles, permission sets, sharing/access, and common causes of access-related test failures
  • Hands-on experience with Copado Robotic Testing (CRT) (required)
  • Strong knowledge of test design techniques, defect lifecycle, and regression management
  • Experience working in distributed teams and communicating status to stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent testing asks

Nice to have

  • Copado CI/CD knowledge (pipelines, deployments) and how releases impact test automation
  • Experience integrating automation runs into CI pipelines (Jenkins/Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with Service Cloud/Sales Cloud domains, console apps, CTI, or Omni-Channel (if applicable)
  • Familiarity with test management tools (Jira/Xray/Zephyr/ALM)
