Job Description:

The overall purpose of the Salesforce Functional Lead is to manage and optimise Salesforce platforms across Currys, ensuring performance, usability, and scalable configuration that meets business needs across B2C and B2B teams. This role focuses on improving system performance, data quality and reporting, while providing expert support across Salesforce applications. This is a strategic, hands-on role ideal for someone who’s confident in breaking down requirements, managing sprint delivery, and translating platform vision into tangible outcomes - all while working closely with stakeholders at all levels. This role will help us scale our platforms and processes as our usage of Salesforce continues to grow. You’ll support our users to understand and realise the potential of the Salesforce products we use – Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data360 and Security Centre. The role involves engaging stakeholders and supporting them to improve processes by using Salesforce, monitoring application performance, implementing security measures, providing user training and documentation, collaborating with other IT professionals to integrate applications, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to optimising application efficiency and user experience. The role is crucial for maintaining the reliability and functionality of software applications, which in turn supports the productivity and efficiency of the organisation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Actively manage technical debt and ensure long-term platform scalability
  • Define, configure and customise the Salesforce platform and other tools to support business processes across all our teams
  • Define our backlog of initiatives and identify opportunities to scale our process and operations to better enable our teams through scalable and maintainable solutions
  • Stay up to date with Salesforce releases and emerging capabilities
  • Lead training sessions and create enablement materials tailored for end users, power users, and stakeholders to drive platform adoption and accountability
  • Ensure that ease of use is factored into all feature designs, for both internal and external users
  • Use Salesforce reports and dashboards to understand adoption levels and working with stakeholders to improve adoption
  • Responsible for suggesting improvements to enhance efficiency and user experience
  • Oversee our use of Backup, Archiver, Security Centre and Event Monitoring and configure these to ensure the platform is secure and compliant
  • Assists with ensuring applications are secure by implementing and maintaining security measures, such as user access controls
  • Assists with ensuring applications comply with industry standards and regulations, and that best practices are followed
  • Day-to-day management of third-party SIs/development partners
  • Works closely with other IT professionals, such as network administrators and developers, to integrate applications with other systems and support overall IT infrastructure
  • Communicates with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure applications meet those requirements
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and IT, to understand business needs and deliver effective Salesforce solutions

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Commerce, Sales and Service Clouds essential. Marketing and Data 360 desirable.
  • 5+ years of Salesforce administrator experience, with strong hands-on knowledge of Flows and declarative tools
  • Understand how to balance technical debt, speed, and clean design in a fast-paced environment
  • Good understanding of process automation tools (e.g., Flows, Validation Rules) and are confident creating robust and scalable solutions to achieve business goals
  • Can create reports, dashboards, and list views for various use cases and business stakeholders
  • A strategic thinker and practical problem solver, capable of understanding desired business outcomes and determining the best actions to achieve them
  • Relevant Salesforce Certifications such as Salesforce Administrator Certification, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
